how paying works
no accounts, no card forms, no middlemen. You send crypto to an address, the chain confirms it, your tier unlocks by itself.
1 · what you can pay with
💵 USDC on Base
A dollar-coin on a cheap, fast network. Easiest: exact dollars, pennies of fees, ~1 minute to confirm. Start here if unsure.
◆ ETH on Base
Ether on the same network. The dollar price converts automatically when you make the invoice.
₿ BTC on Bitcoin
Classic on-chain bitcoin. ⏸️ paused for now. One confirmation takes ~10-60 minutes, which doesn't fit a 60-minute invoice. It'll return with longer invoices; meanwhile USDC or ETH work fine.
The join page only ever offers what's currently switched on.
1.5 · tips, unlocks & invites 💝
- Tips send USDC straight to the artist. From any post's tip ♥ button or the tip tab on /pay. Minimum $1, no unlocking involved, just love.
- Locked posts with a price tag are pay-per-view: hit unlock, pay once in USDC, and the post (photos, film, everything) is yours forever. No subscription needed.
- Tip goals show a progress bar on special posts. When the bar fills, the promised bonus drops. Herd mentality encouraged. 🐑
- Invite links live in settings: every friend who joins through yours adds +5 days to your own membership, automatically.
- Messages (if switched on) live under messages. A private letterbox between you and the owner, photos included. Some messages have a price tag: pay to unlock, same as a post. Each tier includes monthly messages (1/2/5). Use them wisely 💌.
2 · getting set up (first time only)
You need a wallet app and a little crypto in it:
- For USDC/ETH on Base: install Coinbase Wallet, Rabby, or MetaMask. Buy USDC on an exchange (Coinbase, Kraken…) and withdraw it on the Base network to your wallet address. Keep a crumb of ETH on Base for gas (a dollar's worth lasts ages).
- For BTC: any bitcoin wallet works (BlueWallet, Sparrow, Cash App…). Buy and withdraw as usual.
⚠️ The #1 mistake: withdrawing on the wrong network. For Base payments the network must say Base. Not Ethereum, not Solana. Funds sent on the wrong network can get stuck.
2.5 · no Base USDC? swap instead 🔀
Hold BTC, ETH, SOL or other coins? Swap them straight into the invoice. No account, no ID, nothing to install:
- Card: on /pay pick 💳 buy with card. Relay's onramp (MoonPay) takes cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay and sends USDC straight to the invoice address. Quick ID check on first purchase, minimums apply. Buy at least the invoice total, then paste the Base transaction hash like any swap.
- Relay link: on /pay pick swap any coin · Relay, choose what you hold, open the prefilled swap, approve in your wallet, come back and paste the Base transaction hash. Same verify button, same unlock.
- SideShift: pick swap any coin · SideShift, choose your coin, and send exactly the amount shown to the deposit address shown. Wrong amounts bounce back automatically. The page then watches the swap itself (usually a minute or two) and unlocks you.
Swap outputs vary a little with fees. Send a touch extra so you land above the invoice floor. Anything short sits in the owner's review queue (never lost), and anything wrong-network should go to the owner with your tx hash, same as direct payments.
3 · paying, step by step
- Create your account (seconds, free tier included), then log in.
- Open /pay, pick your tier, duration, and currency, then make my invoice.
- Send exactly the amount shown, to exactly the address shown. The odd cents (e.g. $7.0041) are on purpose. They identify your payment, so don't round them!
- Paste the transaction hash back on the page and hit I've sent it. The page checks the chain and unlocks you automatically.
⏳ Invoices melt after 60 minutes. If yours expires, just make a fresh one. Never pay an expired invoice's amount.
4 · how long is the wait?
| currency | confirmations needed | typical wait |
|---|---|---|
| USDC / ETH (Base) | 20 blocks | ~1 minute |
| BTC | 1 block | ~10-60 minutes |
Leave the tab open. It re-checks by itself while you make tea. 🍵
5 · if something goes sideways
- “Chain doesn't know that hash yet”. You may have pasted it wrong, or it hasn't spread yet. Wait a minute and retry.
- “Smaller than the invoice”. Usually rounded cents or a fee taken out. One transaction must cover the whole amount, so write to the owner with your tx hash and they'll credit it by hand.
- Invoice expired before you paid. Don't pay it; make a new one.
- Paid from an exchange (no tx hash handy)? Grab it from the withdrawal history and paste it in. Verification works the same.
- Still stuck? Write to the owner with your login email + transaction hash. Every payment lands in the owner's ledger, so nothing gets lost. Worst case they flip your tier by hand.
6 · safety rules 🔒
- Only ever pay an address shown to you inside this site while logged in (/pay). The owner will never DM you an address.
- Double-check the first and last 6 characters of the address before sending (clipboard malware swaps addresses).
- Nervous? The invoice shows the exact amount. Send precisely that down to the last digit. Anything else (over or under) lands in the owner's review queue instead of unlocking automatically.
- Sharing is caring (and rewarded): copy any locked post's link, add
?ref=YOURCODE(find it in settings), and anyone who joins through it adds +5 days to your membership. - Memberships renew by paying again. Nothing auto-charges you, ever.
- 💸 All crypto payments are final. There is no chargeback mechanism on-chain. Nobody, including the owner, can reverse a transaction. If something went wrong (wrong amount, expired invoice, wrong network), stop and write to the owner with your tx hash before paying again. Legitimate mistakes get credited by hand from the payment ledger.
